The Vocational Counselor, in collaboration with the client, assesses client needs, plans a course of action to address those needs, links the client to applicable services and monitors client progress. The Vocational Counselor assists the clients with acquiring employment, volunteer opportunities and educational opportunities. The Vocational Counselor must ensure that the clients are provided with appropriate, competent and professional information, referrals and advocacy services to expedite successful outcomes.
Principal responsibilities include:
* Coordinate and develop self-growth workshops for clients to aid in the development of job readiness skills.
* Develop relationships with vocational programs, continued education programs and employment opportunities in the community.
* Develop service plan goals with the clients related to educational and vocational goals.
* Counsel and motivate clients towards achieving goals and supervise their progress towards those goals.
* Link clients to employment / volunteer / educational opportunities in the community.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor\'s degree and at least one year related experience. Excellent written and verbal communication.
