The program is looking for engineers systems, software, electrical, mechanical, and product support -- to provide development, test, and verification expertise on what will be a company flagship, airborne radar surveillance system. The system applies state-of-the-art antenna and processing technologies to solve some of the most challenging requirements in the defense industry.
As a defense contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of security clearance and special access for assigned staff. Overall, this means that a careful examination of an applicant's background will be made before the assignment of such work including financial records, foreign national contacts, motor vehicle driving records, any criminal convictions, etc. In addition, determining whether or not a candidate may have been denied employment or special consideration on a particular defense contractor's special program are all important elements in the assessment process after an offer is made. Not being able to secure the special accesses needed on some programs may result in the termination of employment if other suitable work is not assigned.
Job Description:
The individual will be responsible for supporting the Program Quality Manager, Integrated Product Teams, various support functions, and teammates on a DoD development program in the implementation and execution of a Quality program which meets the Company's ISO-9001 and AS-9100 certified Quality Management System. Support will include creating Quality Plans, assisting with product design and development reviews and development fabrication, creation of and compilation of metrics that benefit the program, performing Root Cause Analysis/Identifying effective Corrective Action/Measuring the effectiveness of identified Corrective Actions. Special emphasis will be placed on quality processes to ensure that product designs and supply base meet customer requirements, that the design is robustly base-lined and quality characteristics for smooth transition to production are achieved. The individual must have the ability to analyze data and develop improvement steps when the data indicates a need for improvement, work within a team environment to resolve issues whether technical, customer, product, or process. Be able to communicate effectively with different levels of management to affect change.
The individual must have a firm understanding of the principles of Quality in a product development environment and must have a thorough knowledge of the principles of manufacturing and development transition to production. Must be able to combine the two principles to enable to team to be successful.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 6 years related experience.
Knowledge of DOD development Program including Preliminary and Critical Design reviews as well as design base-lining activities (PCA,FCA, Qualification)
Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Actions process and tools.
Understanding of Cost Controls and Cost Control System.
Knowledge and understanding of ISO-9001 and AS-9100 Quality Requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of personnel.
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control techniques, processes, and tools.
Knowledge of Six Sigma process.
Able effectively use Microsoft Windows applications.
Existing DoD Top Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
Six Sigma Certification,
Aircraft modification quality experience
Experience on a Radar Development program
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong customer relation skills.
An understanding of the Raytheon Quality systems and tools is desired.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
Required Education (including Major): Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.
