SAIC's Systems and Technology Solutions Business Unit (S&TS BU) with more than 2,300 employees in 30 locations worldwide, provides technology and solutions for the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as other Government agencies including the Department of Defense, the Defense Advanced Research Agency (DARPA) and the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), Research Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) of AMCOM and the Infantry School at Ft. Some of our current contracts include the $2.1B US Army transformation program - Future Combat Systems, the AMCOM EXPRESS (AE) contract which is an IDIQ contract under which we have the single largest task order supporting the Software Engineering Directorate (SED) of the AMRDEC. In addition, our Engineering & Analysis Operation provides a wide range of services to customers throughout the Army's Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) as well as the Program Executive Offices for Missiles & Space and Aviation.



Our Missile Defense & Space Operation assumes responsibility for most of the SAIC Missile Defense work for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC). Also, we have programs focus on alternative and precision munitions, dynamic armor, electric and pulsed power technologies, tactical network services, robotics and intelligent systems.



Position Description:

Member of the SPARTA C2BMC SETA Support staff with a primary work assignment supporting C2BMC Information Assurance (MDA/BCE). Work assignments will include:



Create ArcIMS user interface, which connects to an SQL database utilizing ArcSDE.

Create ArcGIS Schematics drill down view utilizing data from SQL database.

Ability to load and configure ArcGIS software in a windows IIS environment.

Create code to auto generate shape files from data located in SQL database.

Provides large scale database and database application support with SQL database application server administration.

Reviews, evaluates, designs, implements and maintains multiple databases.

Identifies data sources, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams and documents process.

Creates code for database access, modifications and constructions including storage procedures.

Creates advanced database queries and scripts for data comparison and verification.

Will deploy an existing controlled-access database, to include site survey for hardware hosting.

Conducts preliminary design and development work for a new unified cross-organizational database.

Gathers database requirements from internal and external customers.

Determination of data storage requirements and processes.

Review and recommendations of data storage requests.

Provide effective communication of technical functionality to technical and non-technical personnel.



Minimum Required:

Experience and Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Development or related Engineering discipline

Experience:

10 years of work experience

5 years of position specific work experience

Minimum of two years ArcGIS experience.

Minimum of two years database experience

Demonstrated knowledge designing, developing and manipulating databases, data warehouses and multidimensional databases in both SQL and ArcGIS.

Thorough understanding of relational database design, data modeling, physical schema design, storage procedures and high volume database tuning.

Experience capturing customer requirements and converting the requirements into an effective database design and implementation recommendations.

Ability to write complex SQL and ArcGIS statements.

An understanding of porting issues between differing relational databases.

Strong optimization skills, specifically with high volume databases.

Ability to write Java code to access a database using JDBC or Open Database Connectivity (ODBC).

Experience developing advance code using C# and/or Visual Basic.
