Job Objective:

The role of the Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is to improve maintenance safety, reliability, productivity, and work quality by providing technical support for the sustained operation of the FPD Western Region locations  The purpose of the Maintenance & Reliability Engineer is to train and support maintenance technicians, minimize spending and downtime through use of prudent preventative and predictive maintenance tasks, and develop solutions to acute and chronic equipment failures, utilizing external technical expertise when necessary and own the regions MI and PSM deliverables.  Additionally, this role will coordinate certain capital projects from concept development to completion.

Essential Functions

The responsibilities of the Maintenance & Reliability Engineer will

include:

*     Facility Maintenance & ReliabilityPlans

*     Work with regional plant leaders, process engineers, safety and

environmental professionals to develop facility maintenance plans for each

site within assigned region.

*     From facility management plans, work with the site leaders and the

regional leadership team to develop a prioritized project portfolio for

each regional site with emphasis on PSM & MI.

*     Create, maintain and report capital budgets for each site.

*     Business Planning and Alternative Analysis

*     Determine project objectives in business terms.

*     Develop high-level alternatives to meet the project  objectives.

*     Determine project constraints, e.g. regulatory, legal, cost, etc.

*     Determine rough scope and cost estimates for each alternative.

*     Based on risk reduction or return on investment metric, develop a

recommendation.

*     For the recommended alternative, develop a preliminary execution

plan.

*     Front-end Engineering

*     Determine project performance criteria.

*     Evaluate and select technical alternatives to satisfy the performance

criteria.

*     Develop sufficient design documentation to support accurate cost

estimating and required design reviews.

*     Coordinate and document required design reviews.

*     Finalize project costs, justification, prepare detailed execution

plan and submit Investment Proposal.

*     Project Execution

*     Prepare detailed design documents sufficient for efficient project

construction.

*     Specify, design, and procure necessary equipment and materials.

*     Select and supervise outside consultants and contractors.

*     Manage, control and document design changes.

*     Coordinate construction activities with production requirements.

*     Control and report design and construction progress against the

execution plan.

*     Control and report on project cost against the original budget.

*     Provide engineering support of start-up team.

Education / Qualifications:

-     BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

-     8-10 years experience

-     A disciplined person possessing initiative and motivation.

-     Knowledge of world class maintenance, predictive maintenance and SAP.

-     Strong verbal and written communication skills.
