Machine Operator - Block Operator Wed-Sun 8-4pm

Train on 8-4 and work on 8-4

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Read work instructions from work order or traveler

2. Able to identify a quality product applied to and produced at the assigned manufacturing process

3. Consult with Foreman or previous shift operators to determine status of in process work, machine conditions and other work to be completed

4. Set up manufacturing equipment, in reasonable time, using documented procedures, to produce quality product.

5. Responsible to understand the operation of the manufacturing process in order to produce a quality product and to be proficient at operator maintenance.

6. Observe machine operation to determine accuracy of operation and make subsequent adjustments as required to produce quality products efficiently.

7. Informs Foreman or Manager of any irregularities in material, equipment, procedures etc. including advance notice of need to replenish consumable wear parts.

8. Responsible for maintaining crew compliance with established operating procedures.

9. Maintain product and scrap identification

10. Record required information on forms and/or electronic I/O devices

11. Communicate with other crewmembers to overcome or correct problems as they occur.

12. Assists other operators as required during a downtime situation

13. Familiar with all process chemicals used in work area

14. Follow procedures required in accordance with Dynamets Quality System (ISO9001)

15. Operate plant mobile equipment and overhead cranes (pendant and radio controlled)

16. Handle process wastes in accordance with documented procedures.

17. Assist in the training of other Production and Maintenance Employees

18. Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area

19. Observe all safety rules and procedures including wearing designated personal protective equipment and lock out tag out

20. Work with Managers, Foreman, Engineers, Technical Development on process improvement projects

21. Participate in Continuous Improvement activities as requested

22. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Foreman, Gang leader, or Manager

These duties and responsibilities reflects the general details necessary to describe the principle functions of the Production and Maintenance jobs at Dynamet, and shall not be interpreted as a detail description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job.

Physical Demands/Work Environment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

Reach with hands and armsTalk and hear Stand; walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift and or move 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Utilize vision including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus

The work environment is such that the employee is regularly exposed to:

Moving mechanical parts, Outside weather conditions, Very loud noise levels. Extreme heat, Occasionally to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Risk of electrical shock or vibration

Personal Protective equipment is required in all work areas.

Qualifications / Training:

High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent experience

Florida drivers license

Must have passed a test indicating mechanical aptitude and math ability

Must be able to read and write at the high school level

Pass a physical examination

Drug and alcohol free

Evaluation/Probationary Period for Temporary Employees

Employee must successfully satisfy a work evaluation/probationary period as determined by management and review board before being transitioned to a permanent employee. Permanency is based on the employees attitude, performance, attendance, cooperativeness and safety record, as well as job and shift openings.
