Lead Communications Technology Specialistexperience: Years
Total Compensation: $95K

Serves as highest level technical resource for a networking technology

Works outside immediate discipline to coordinate a group of people in troubleshooting a wide-scale problem; serves as point-of-contact across several areas or disciplines to solve major network outages with high impact or visibility

Provides expert technical advice and counsel to management and to less experienced infrastructure developers

Evaluates, recommends and selects appropriate hardware and software for network infrastructure


Performs lead role in reviewing vendor proposals and making recommendations

Leads implementation and deployment efforts on large projects

Designs and leads implementation of hardware/ software/ environment standards based on business strategy and architecture


 


This person will be working in a high availability environment with a team of Network Security Engineers securing the global enterprise network. This is a very large environment, so this person must have a background in large enterprise networks. This person will be working with the business users and other members of IT to gather requirements, create technical specifications, and then implement those specifications to secure Office Depot’s global enterprise network. Daily tasks may include incident response, monitoring, investigations, project implementations, as well as  operational support including a weekly on-call rotation. This candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, configuring, and implementing enterprise network security solutions to include Firewalls, Proxy servers, content filtering, scanning tools, IDS, log management, and internal/external DNS.

This person must have the following experience:

-Experience with Check Point Firewalls 
-Experience with Windows Server and various versions of Linux/Unix
-Extensive experience with data networking and network design.
-Expert knowledge of routing, NATs, TCP/IP and various other network protocols.
-Experience with compliance audits specifically PCI and SOX.

This person preferably will have the following experience:

-Experience with Microsoft ISA Server, Foundstone, and Websense
-Experience with Check Point IDS/IPS
-Experience with SPLAT
-Experience configuring and monitoring SIM solutions
