Position Summary:

The Airports Ground Operations Crew will load and unload Customer luggage, meet arriving flights, help prepare and clean cabin for departure, operate ground service equipment, assist with fleet servicing, assist Customers with special needs, and any ad-hoc requests as needed. Depending on location

, the Airports Ground Operations Crew will load and unload provisioning items for each flight. Flexibility of schedule is necessary as the position requires working mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Maintaining a positive, good natured attitude through any problem is essential.

* Operates ground service equipment which may require deicing and provisioning equipment

* Services aircraft by operating ground service equipment (Potable water truck, ground power unit, tug, aircraft pushback, provisioning truck, lavatory truck, deicing truck, fork lift, etc.)

* Works in a warehouse and/or ramp environment

* Tags, lifts, loads and unloads Customer luggage (up to 100 lbs) from baggage compartment of aircraft and baggage system

* Operates external aircraft equipment

* Helps prepare cabin for Customer boarding and departure, which can include cleaning of seats, seat pockets, floor, galleys and lavatories

* Assist Customers with special needs, e.g. Customers who need assistance in boarding

* Guides aircraft to and from aircraft parking locations

* Occasionally assist with loading and unloading mail, small packages and human remains

* Loads and unloads palettes onto and off loading dock

* Stocks provisioning carts and completes inventory counts

* Ad hoc assignments as requested by the Supervisor or General ManagerInteractions:

* Receives clear, detailed, and specific instructions and consults with Crewleader on all matters outside the scope of daily responsibilities/activitiesSupervisory Duties:

* Airport Ramp environment. Work is outdoors and subject to weather and elevated noise levels.

* Standard work hours include weekends, holidays and irregular shifts and hours.

* Provisioning warehouse environmentMinimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

* One (1) year customer service or sales experience preferred but not required

* Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge

* Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance

* Possess and maintain a valid Drivers License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue Airways insurance standards

* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

* Pass a ten (10) year background check, pre-employment drug test and a criminal history records check (CHRC)

* Pass a five (5) year United States Postal Service background check

* Must be able to read, write, and speak English

* Must be at least 18 years old

* Must pass a Physical Abilities Test (PAT)

* Able to lift, push, and pull objects up to up to fifty (50) pounds frequently, and one hundred (100) pounds occasionally

* Previous airline experience preferred but not required

* Bilingual skills preferred but not required

* Willing to travel and/or work flexible hours/shifts, including holidays and weekends

* Regular attendance and punctuality

* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraftKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Ability to work under all types of weather conditions

* Ability to perform basic computer skillsPhysical Effort:

* Position requires extremely strenuous physical work involving objects in excess of 100 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently. (Very Heavy)
