Position Summary
Perform diving and diving related activities in support of in-water US Navy hull cleaning and minor repairs to ships and submarines in locations surrounding Norfolk, VA.
Travel to other locations on the East Coast of the United States with possible work in locations worldwide will be required.
Will work under the diver in charge (Diving Supervisor) for diving and diving related operations.
Will report to ship repair Task Group Leader if assigned as a craftsman for non diving associated tasks.
Will perform duties, as directed, as diver and maintenance man on diving and diving related equipment.
Must be able to correctly react to a wide range of actual and potential emergency situations, which a commercial diver may encounter.
May be required to dive and work adjacent to and in side of nuclear powered ships and submarines.
The labor rates for divers will be $17.00 - $23.00 per/hour for dry/shop plus an additional $6.00 per hour wet rate for all non Department of Labor contracts.
For Hull Cleaning and other possible DOL contracts, SCA rates will apply.
Individuals mobilized for less than 45 days from our Chesapeake location will receive Virginia DOL/SCA rates.

Duties & Responsibilities
Divers report to the Diving Supervisor or Task Group Leader for the performance of his/her responsibilities.
These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform maintenance and repair of equipment as directed by the Diving Supervisor.
Identify, record and report problems with diving associated systems.
Qualify as quality assurance worker/craftsman and other non-diving positions as required by your immediate supervisor.
Work as a craftsman or technician in topside applications for a variety of contracts to include mechanical work aboard U.S.
Navy ships. |
