Nearly 3,400 associates and contractors support our Card, Mortgage, Home Equity, and Insurance Technology. Business is conducted in over 25 states across the U.S. with additional offices in Canada and Europe. Nearly 2,000 mortgage loan officers serve Bank of America\'s home buying customers, deepening relationships with home builders, and real estate agents and brokers. We have room for growth.
You will underwrite large or more difficult/complex residential loans, such as conventional and government-backed while ensuring compliance with appropriate company and secondary market investor standards. In this role you do have the authority to withdraw and decline loans. In addition, you will analyze and examine loan documentation for accuracy and completeness and work with loan originators or production staff to secure all required documents. Although this is not a supervisory role you may provide training and direction to a more junior staff and develop and recommend modifications to underwriting and production procedures. May respond to individual and investor audits.
Required Skills:
\"Must\" have these skills to be minimally qualified. - Must have DE Certification with a CHUMS number and FHA and/or VA underwriting experience .
- Previous Mortgage Underwriter -- 3-5 years experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and excellent problem solving skills.

- Ability to working in a high volume, fast pace work environment
- Experience in handling complex financial data
