Job Summary: Supervises activities associated with shift supervisors, gaming table covering, hotel tower pre-care, preventive maintenance, pool & fountain and kitchen equipment repairs, to insure high standards of facility maintenance, equipment efficiency and guest service. Assists with department budget. Responsible for interviewing; training; selecting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing the work of employees; maintaining production; appraising employees' productivity and efficiency for purposes of recommending promotions or other changes (evaluations); handling employees' complaints; disciplining employees; planning work; providing for safety and security; and monitoring or implementing legal compliance matters.

 

 

Qualifications:College or University graduate or appropriate equivalent work experience in the trades. Valid drivers license, with a good driving record. Credentials with relation to HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry. Five or more years of working knowledge in one of the trades: HVAC, electrical, plumbing or refrigeration. General knowledge of HVAC, central plant operations, life safety systems, fire pump operations, chilled water and hot water loops, electrical systems, mechanical systems, generator sets, commercial kitchen and laundry equipment. Three to five years of progressively responsible leadership position.

Essential Job Functions:Provide the necessary labor, and equipment to have a continuous program of orderly maintenance, as defined by maintenance system methods, in all assigned areas.

Coordinate communication between the various shifts, and other departments regarding complaints, maintenance frequencies and related facilities maintenance matters.

Develop and conduct team member, and shift supervisor position teaching programs as required. Perform related duties as assigned. Conduct self always in a manner that reflects credit on Harrahs and encourage others to do the same.

Establish a system for inspecting and weekly teaching of maintenance levels that relate to achieving targeted guest inspection goals. Promote a positive work environment that motivates team members and allows them the authority to respond to guest needs.

Provide an incentive system to all team members that addresses reducing costs, enhance safety, provides better response time, or increases revenues and guest satisfaction.

Maintain proper levels of team member staffing that maximizes efficiency, and remains within budgeted labor costs. Develop and prepare operating forecasts, regular, and special reports. Maintain necessary records and files. Implement and establish safety policies and procedures and assure adherence to these polices and procedures.

Recommend changes or improvements in maintenance procedures, processes, and materials, coordinating such changes with other depart.

Recommend personnel changes including the hiring, promotion, demotion and release of staff. Recommend wage, and salary adjustments within established limits.

Approve regular vacations, and requests for personal time off.

Coordinate the requisition of necessary supplies from vendors.

 

Physical & Mental Demands:Must be able to work long hours on variuos shifts. Must be a fast thinker and problem solver, with a great deal of commitment to the department manager's planned direction. Must be dedicated to the organizations vision statement. Must be good at teaching others the various trades. Must have a strong determination and an abundance of patience.
