The primary responsibility of the Associate General Counsel – Corporate Litigation is to manage a litigation caseload with cases at varying stages.

Prepares and files legal pleadings, motions, memoranda of law and related documents, conducts discovery, take depositions, argue evidentiary and other hearings.

Review various factual and legal documents.

Develop litigation strategies.

Meet with experts, witnesses, internal clients and other relevant parties to gather evidence to formulate defense. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Las Vegas Sands Corp. policies, practices and procedures.

  The successful candidate will represent the Company in all phases of litigation as a forceful advocate, at all times in compliance with the ethical standards established by all relevant jurisdictions.

Provides legal analysis and advice, early case assessment, performs legal research, prepares for and handles judicial hearings and trials and conducts post-trial activities where appropriate.

Provides guidance and assistance to clients in management and executive ranks.  MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT REQUIRMENTS: Must be at least 21 years of age, proof of eligibility to work in the United States, possess a law degree, and admittance to the Nevada State Bar Association is required. Ability to communicate effectively in English both in oral and written form, interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts, maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to LVS standards, work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  SPECIFIC POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

* Must have at least a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

* Must possess a current admission to the Nevada Bar Association.

* Must possess at least (7) seven to (10) ten years experience as a hands-on attorney with commercial or defense oriented litigation experience gained at a top firm or Fortune 500 company to include first chair courtroom trials in both jury and bench trials, tried to conclusion.  

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, strong drafting and negotiation skills, a track record of success in professional and personal activities, and membership in at least one state bar are all required.

* Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with the senior management team, while being a self-starter – and the poise and discipline to know when and how to communicate.

* Must possess strong financial acumen and bottom-line orientation.

* Must have exceptional intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

* Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.

* Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude, and the ability to deal effectively with guests, management, team members and outside contacts.

* Must be able to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
